Crazy octuplet mom now stealing your babies’ money

Well, we called it first here at the Fishwrap - it was only a matter of moments before the irresponsible, crazy mother of 14 children, counting her new octuplets, would be trying to take your money to pay for them.

This has me steamed in a way that’s rare even for the Fishwrapper.

I’ll tell you what - my wife and I would like to be able to afford to have one child. But with the economy, uncertain job situations, etc. we’re not sure we can afford to.

But now we’ve got to pay for this irresponsible person’s (I use that term loosely) ridiculous psychotic fantasy of raising the world under her roof? What makes any one of her 14 ill-gotten infants more important than mine? Or yours? Well, she’s made it so because she and her ilk are going to bleed us dry with their irresponsibility.

I’m not talking about her shameless online begging. Suleman’s handout site makes her look like an irresponsible mother who paid no thought to the responsibilities of parenting before she more than doubled her brood size, sure, but if she wants to come across as that kind of twerp, I’ve got no problem with that. And who knows, since she’s obviously a person who relies on the gullible generosity of others, maybe she was really surprised by how much of a burden these kids would be. Maybe she thought her mother would take over, like she has been in raising her existing six kids for her.

Too bad her mom just thinks she’s nuckin futs.

Regardless, if you’re enough of a moron to give this nitwit your cash, so be it. I can’t be responsible for your personal failings.

No, I’m talking about how she’s roped Kaiser into her camp, and how they are lobbying the State of California (remember, the Gold-less State, the bankrupt one that’s firing all its employees and TAKING AWAY THEIR HEALTH CARE), into paying for this sad flock through the Medi-Cal program.

Great. Screw schools, or human services, or transportation, or clean air, or environmental cleanup, or economic development, or the UC system, or any of the other parts of this state that are having budgets cut back. Instead, let’s divert resources from the only program designed to provide some modicum of health care to the poor in this state and give it to this psychotic madwoman.

Next time you look at all the NBC propaganda, and see those sweet little darling preemies featured on Suleman’s begging site, or Oprah, or whatever, tell yourself this:

Preemies are expensive. Octuplet preemies are ridiculously expensive. Suleman’s $500 in food stamps and total lack of a job or productivity aren’t going to pay for the almost $900,000 it may cost us (yes, you, if you pay taxes in California) just for their time in hospital.

The cost of care for each of those children would be enough to provide basic health services to ten times as many children who are not receiving it now. How many poor kids could you save in California with an extra million bucks? How many poor kids in California will die because of that million bucks being leeched (literally) out of the system and therefore not available to them.

Let me say that again. At the margin, some children may die from Octomom’s irresponsibility.

Now, it’s not Suleman’s kids’ fault. Now that they’re here, we’ve got to do what we can to keep them alive and well. But just remember that through her irresponsibility, Suleman is depriving others. If we could create the paper trail from her to a deprived kid that dies because Kaiser is too busy milking the taxpayer to support its little Disney story, there might be a pretty plausible negligent manslaughter case here.

So yeah, go to the crazy Octuplet mom’s handout site. While you’re there, send her a note (yep, that’s her comment form) to tell her what you think about her actions. Don’t be threatening, but implore her to stop the insanity. Her own mother calls her behavior “unconscionable” - that’s a good word to use. Maybe enough feedback will get through her addled brain and get her to stop before she pops out another 20 kids.

And while you’re at it, why not contact Kaiser and raise some hell with them too. Her mother has been doing that - pleading with them to refuse to inseminate her further.

And then contact Medi-Cal and urge them to require that any future benefits she receives from the State be docked to pay them back for having to bail her out.

And then contact whomever will listen.

And perhaps most importantly if you want these kinds of abuses of the system to end, the next time you see a story on TV about Crazy Octomom, turn off the station. Permanently.

(Oh, and if you’ve ever thought of Digging or promoting any of my drivel, this would be the story I’d request you do it with. Nasty ranting aside, this kind of abuse keeps children from getting the health care they deserve.)
